• Make Diwali Extra Special

    Our Diwali pajamas will take your family’s celebration to a whole new level while making our culture more modern, accessible, and fun for little ones. Get some for the whole family – even your furbabies!

    Our first print is centered around the DIYA – a small oil lamp that has deep significance in Indian culture. The diya represents light over dark and good over evil. And our colors were chosen for their vibrancy. The Bright Yellow is like Turmeric and the Red is like Chilli Powder, two spices commonly used in South Asian cooking. We also used the best materials, 100% organic cotton and non-toxic dyes, to bring you soft and sustainable pieces we hope will become family favorites.

    • About Us

    Dancing Desis is a woman-owned, desi-owned (Telugu!) small business that was first conceived in 2019 with plans to launch in 2020. But with COVID and several manufacturing setbacks, it took us a lot longer to launch. The extra time was worth it though because it allowed us to refine our product and mission which we are so proud of.

    From time to time, we’ll be releasing special edition pajama collections celebrating our incredible South Asian culture. But we hope to use our pajamas as a vehicle for a bigger platform focused on connecting community and creating change.

    We are so happy to (finally!) be here and hope you’ll join us on this journey!

      Not only will our pajama prints bring you a smile, but we hope they will also spur interesting conversations with family and friends on heritage, tradition, representation, and inclusivity.

      With this new platform, our aim is to bring together the South Asian community to both have fun together (we can't wait to see your pictures dancing in our pajamas!) and also to build long-lasting friendships and partnerships.

      Each collection will harness our collective power to create positive change. A portion of proceeds from each pajama purchase will go towards supporting nonprofits and charities doing important work.

    We are dedicated to putting the planet and people first. Along each step of our supply chain, we’ve applied a sustainability and social impact lens to create positive and meaningful change. This is just the start and we're working to do more.

    • All of our pajamas are made with 100% organic cotton and non-toxic dyes and are certified by GOTS and developed in line with the OEKO-TEK 100 standard.


      For our packaging, we're taking a minimalist approach and striving to use the least amount of materials we can. We're also selecting biodegradeable, compostable, or recycled materials whenever possible.

    • We spent a significant amount of time on the ground in India finding the right partners and are proud to be working with manufacturers that share our values. Our partners utilize best in class production and employment practices and are working hard to ensure our products are as sustainable and ethically-made as possible.

    • This season, we’ll be donating a portion of the proceeds from each pajama purchase to Give India, a vetted nonprofit with a long track record of working on social impact initiatives in India.
